While the initial approach to CAD had been to make it accessible only to trained architects, AutoCAD has gradually become a multi-disciplinary product with some innovative features:

Renders 3D models directly in the graphics window, eliminating the need for 3D modeling.

Allows model editing on the fly by simply clicking on the model, adding new dimensions, changing objects, and refining the display.

Creates a variety of 2D drawings including 2D drafting, technical drawing, and architectural design.

Creates a variety of documents including reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Supports BIM models, linking them to the drawings and then creating a variety of documents directly from the 3D model.

Supports real-time collaboration with other users by allowing other users to provide feedback.

AutoCAD can export all documents in a format ready to be sent to clients and suppliers, enabling cost-efficient, real-time collaboration.

While AutoCAD is primarily a 2D CAD application, 3D capability has been added over time. This has meant that, as the design is finalized, it is imported into the 3D model. This 3D model is then used to create any required 2D drawings.

How does AutoCAD work?

Any model created using the 2D drawing commands, which is drawn into the 3D model, is stored in the.DWG (Drawing) format. This format is usually sent to the users‘ clients and suppliers in AutoCAD.

AutoCAD 2010 introduced the capability to create 3D objects using the Extrude and Revolve commands, which created surfaces that can be edited and exported. A common 3D feature is the base and origin which defines the plane of a 3D object. Base and origin settings can be changed during a drawing creation, and with the parameter Editor Base / Origin / Shared, base and origin settings from one drawing can be used in another. When the base or origin of a 3D model is changed, the rest of the 3D model will also be adjusted accordingly, so it will maintain a consistent size. 3D Drafting supports 3D models in a 2D environment, and is a specialized type of 3D model. 3D Drafting features have their own undo and cut/copy/paste.

Finding the nth prime using recursion

I am trying to find the nth prime using recursion.
Here’s the code I have right now:
def prime_primes(n, count):

# Find the prime factorization of (n / 2)
prime_factor = prime_primes(n // 2, count – 1)
# Add n back into the equation
return count * prime_factor + n

Now, I know my code is completely wrong. I am not sure if I am supposed to store the prime factors of (n / 2) in a list or array or what. How exactly do I go about getting the prime factors and then adding the numbers back into the equation?


A recursive prime number counting algorithm is as follows:

Return 0 immediately, if n is 0
If n is odd, return 1 and also return 1 if n is a prime
If n is even, return 1 if n is a prime
Recurse to the following step

Return n if n is prime
If n is a prime, return (n-1)/2
Recurse to the following step

Return 1, if (n-1)/2 is prime
Return (n-1)/2, if n is a prime


The recursive call to prime_factor should be after the prime_primes function, that way it can find the prime factorization of the number. You may also want to keep track of the prime factors by storing them in a list.

Markup Assist makes it easy to import materials, colors, shading effects, and other data from printed paper or PDFs into drawings directly from the DesignCenter.

With just a few clicks, you can import textured surfaces, layer text, color swatches, and color profiles — such as Pantone, Spot Color, or a Pantone variant — and preview the changes.

If your drawing is already open, you can access Material Color pickers for the imported data. If you need to change the colors, you can use the Color Swatches panel or your existing color palette.

To import textured surfaces, select the material and then choose the Import Material option in the ribbon. For more information, see New AutoCAD 2016 Material Editor.

After the import, a Material Preview panel opens to show the changes to the imported data in the drawing. (You can also navigate and edit the imported data on screen.)

Importing materials, colors, and shading effects

Select the material from the Import Materials panel in the Materials panel on the ribbon. You can also choose to import both materials and textures.

If your drawing is already open, you can access Material Color pickers for the imported data. To import colors, select the color swatch or spot color from the Material Color panel.

Note: Markup Assist only supports one material at a time. If your drawing already has a material, select it before importing another material.

Use the Pick Color palette or Material Color panel to select a material color and use the color pickers to change the color.
